Lol, my second cousins live there. I mean it probably smells like Indian food inside the houses, but I don't remember the actual streets smelling like it.
They might look like black people, but they dont behave like them
I’m a proud brown man but I wouldn’t want to raise my kids where the kids are all brown. I need more diversity and for them to be tolerant of all cultures. There are more opportunities to do this outside Brampton IMHO.
It’s big houses sure, but crammed all together. They over expanded the suburb too quickly and as a result it is under serviced, like their hospital. Doesn’t help that the households are multigenerational and cram as many people as possible. The crime rate is relatively high. It’s also like 90% Punjabi - I’ve heard countless stories about how the schools are cliquey and if you aren’t Punjabi then sucks for you.
This is insane. I assumed crime rates would be low. Why do you think the crimes are high there? Cliques I can understand, since this happens in areas where one demographic is more dominant than the other.
All I know is in Markham everyone is super rich, but it also garners drugs and illciit activities like gambling. So i can see why there are lots of gangs and crime in Markham. I guess Brampton I am not too sure

Good question, I was pretty shocked too when I heard that. Probably cheaper living = more poor people = higher crime?

It’s funny how on the bigger subs people treat leafland like a utopia, but when you go to the local subs you see what it’s actually like
