Shounen is more representative of weebshit than any other genre. It's the most financially driven and least ambitious out of all the various weebshit subgenres, with the primary audience meant to enthrall young boys and teens.
Every shounenshit discussion is wankery about muh power levels and who the coolest fictional character is and whining about other fictional characters not getting a chance to be cool enough. Shounentards judge the slop they watch by the amount of cool moments and epic one liners they can meme about. "Good writing" in shounen boils down to letting the favorite characters of the fanbase get jerked off as much as possible, anything that goes against this will be trashed.
I kind of respect of Jap companies like Nintendo and Shounen Jump a lot now for largely refusing to make their franchises "grow up" to appease the demands of their aging fanbases.

You can't go to a gym in America without seeing a Broly shirt. Rappers name drop Goku all the time. The UFCs middleweight champion was doing Naruto references in his walkouts. If you want to consider me a weeb or childish for liking fighting anime's I don't really care but don't pretend it's the exact same audience as people watching slice of life shit.

Honestly the manga aint too bad. Most people hate it because the anime fillers make Gaara and other OG characters look like shit, but most people dont know they were fillers. Stupid to make this anime a weekly anime when one chapter comes out a month, real top tier IQ there.

The manga at least avoids filler (I think over 60% of the anime is filler) but the main story just isn't very good and Ikemoto's art is kinda butt.
Also Boruto does a weird thing where you're still expected to watch the anime. Like Sumire was back ported to the manga but doesn't have her backstory explained there, so I guess her anime introduction is canon? The ideal experience is supposed to be reading the manga as well as watching the anime which is a huge chore.
