But you don't say you 'can't be sure' about gravity or chemical bonding do you? What we call 'surity' is really very high confidence, and for that reason when the evidence is very strongly against gods, and it would take something insane like a god appearing in the sky or us finding ourselves in the afterlife, it makes sense not to believe in them.
