Turning the USA over to Christian extremists means they can alter anything to their liking, even the constitution. It's a very real possibility that they could make it illegal to not be Christian, among thousands of other changes they could make. Supreme Court justices can interpret the Constitution however they feel like and that becomes the rule of law.

Yes, that is exactly how the US government works, World's smartest Redditor.

No, the GOP had the perfect :marseychefkiss: balance :marseyyinandyang: of whining about abortion :marseygilead: as a reason to vote for them, knowing they were never :marseyitsover: going :marseysal2: to do anything :marseycoleporter: about it, to Trump :marseybootlicker2: putting in these radical :marseyterfdomesticabuse: Catholic :marseycrusader: justices who took up cases they shouldn't have, given that they all said RvW was 'settled case law' and then promptly overturned it, which as fricked up the GOP ever since.

Not passing one benefited them. Then they could scare people about conservatives banning abortion and get votes.

Since this totally happened and isn't just your weird r*pe fetish showing it should be super easy for you to share a direct link to the law.

Trump plans to build mass deportation camps that can hold millions of people.

He talks of purging the civil government. He talks of using the DOJ to go after his political enemies. > How many will die?

Trump's people have concrete, detailed plans to arrest 15 to 20 million immigrants, Muslim Americans (the Muslim ban is returning too), and LGBTQ people. There are 2.75 Muslims in America and 20 million LGBTQ people in America.

The immigrants and Muslims are going to be expelled. To where? I don't know. I doubt it will be a place that is ready for millions of people to show up with nothing to their name.

The LGBTQ people will be imprisoned. They may be executed under the new law planned for executing "groomers."

most of their twitter posts get under 50 likes, it's just the result of some r-slurs in a think tank and will have no bearing on anything.

Modern conservative religious authoritarian states have fallen apart quickly or are shitholes, they don't achieve their “based” aims. The most successful, Portugal, fell apart like three years after Salazar died when the army sided with the left wing protesters in a peaceful coup. In Spain, Franco RETVRNED to tradition and appointed the King that undid all the fascist stuff Franco put into place as soon as he could. Other than that you mostly have petrostates running off of imported guest workers in the Gulf, or kings keeping 70 IQ villagers in line in the backwaters of the world

Stop making me wish I could vote for Trump! I'm a disgusting Europoor so I have no vote in an American election (unless somehow I can persuade the Democrats to send me a mail-in ballot). But the more I hear about the horrible awful things Bad Orange Man will do if he gets back, the better it sounds.

I mean, isn't Biden described uncritically as a "devout Catholic" so why do they think he's soft on atheists? The part about the Supreme Court also has me laughing - so, when the Supreme Court invented "the right to abortion is totally in the Constitution" and passed gay marriage and the rest of it, this was just fine and dandy. But when the wrong sort of judges are making decisions, suddenly all the "sorry this is the law doesn't matter what your state voted for, the Supreme Court says it has to be this way" bunch are now strict Originalists?
