The thing is I'm (obviously) atheist but also gay. And I live with my partner and her husband. And my trans kid. I don't hide any of this and talk about it as things naturally come up in conversation just like any other family. I refuse to hide people I love for someone else's comfort.
i cant imagine "i take it up the butt while my boyfriend's husband watches" coming up naturally in conversation but ok

People like this have to make it all about themselves. She could just say "my kid" or "my son/daughter" but that wouldn't get her half the attention and praise for being so brave and stunning as going on about "my trans son/trans daughter, who is trans you know, I'm the parent of a trans kid".
Nobody needs to know the personal details of her life, just like sitting at the table with her mouth closed while the others pray is not going to get her into trouble. But of course, not having the Special Snowflake acknowledged is intolerable, so she'll just be looking for excuses to claim she's being persecuted. "Janey Jones didn't say hello when we passed in the hallway this morning, she's clearly getting ready to have me burned at the stake for being an atheist!"
