they dont know 1/10th of the information they need to know in order to have a decent opinion about USSR that isnt infected with western propaganda.
That's not a productive talking point, and dismisses what people may or may not know. If you have a conversation about a topic, and someone says "These policies from MLism led to this atrocity" and you reply with "that's just western propaganda" -- that's not a discussion, it's a thought-terminating cliche and flag-planting.
Avoid that.
