I went ahead and preemptively blocked him. Should have sent him the clip of George Carlin bashing the boomers. But he's not worth it.

Yep - not worth it. Blocks are best left in place and undisturbed. Someone made the choice that "this is not going to work" & only they can make the choice for it to work.
