Inevitably, there will be creepy commenters here, talking about how great it is that these 15-year-old boys had s*x, and/or critiquing her appearance, and/or praising her for having engaged with s*x with these boys, as if having s*x were the pinnacle of human achievement for teenage boys.

She spent years and a ridiculous amount of money getting to the position of teaching these kids. That investment is now forever gone. She pledged to uphold the institution of education — but instead kicked at its foundations. Other kids of any gender/s*x/sexual orientation will trust their own teachers less.

She screwed these kids up; they're supposed to understand that s*x between a minor and an adult is wrong. Now, they have been shown that for them, that rule doesn't matter — so they will be very likely to turn around and have s*x with a minor when they are an adult.

So, before you start in with singing along to Van Halen, and discussing your private masturbatory fantasies, and perpetuating the simple lie that what happened here had even the slightest merit: Stop.

There are more important things happening here than your fantasies.

You will likely need to wait some time for the block system's cache to clear.

Reddit uses a Bloom Filter to perform blocking. The number of entries is limited to 1000 to ensure the bloom filter for each account is a static size.

One of the drawbacks of a bloom filter is that once an entry is put into the bloom filter, it can't be removed from it. To accomplish "deleting" an entry from a bloom filter, a second bloom filter or a static list is used as a "entries that are exceptions / recently deleted" lookup.

Then, at regular intervals, bloom filters that have those exception tables associated with them are rebuilt.

There's mechanisms in place to prevent people from adding and removing accounts to their block list in quick succession, which would have the effect of loading the blocking lookup systems and blocklist maintenance systems.

You likely tripped one of the safeguards, preventing you from updating your blocklist, which will reset when the system runs maintenance on your block list bloom filter.

You should also consider only blocking users that are violating sitewide rules in ways that target you; the block system was developed as a stopgap between someone targeting someone else for harassment & the time a moderator bans the harasser / sitewide trust & safety suspends the harasser.

Hitting 1000 blocklist entries should only happen in extreme cases.

Yeah, anti-furry subreddits have regularly been found to be violating Sitewide Rule 1.

The anti-furry subreddits are never "It's too hot in those costumes!", "Whaddabout the enjoyment of the furry handlers (backpack drudges)?", "It's hard to wear an N95 and a full head at the same time, turning conventions into potential superspreader events, I'm concerned for my furry child", or "the cost of craft foam is too d*mn high".

They're all, always, without exception, destined from the start to be distillable down to

alt.furry.die.die.die

Which sentiment was run into the ground before most of their parents were born.

What about anti-nazi subreddits? Doesn't that pretty much promote hate against a political identity?

You need the full text of the rule —

Communities and people that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect those who promote attacks of hate or who try to hide their hate in bad faith claims of discrimination.

So, no, opposing Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremism does not count as hate speech nor make a hate group under Sitewide Rule 1.

The language also does not specify political affiliation, as political affiliation is not an inherent identity.

That was actually due to multiple independent institutions not bothering to realise — until laws started to get passed outlawing us, until the richest person in the world went $44 billion into debt to buy a social media platform so his bully friends could continue to issue death fatwas against us — that there was a problem.

Getting Reddit T&S to understand and address the scope of the problem on just this site took years of constant work. Even after they recognised the problem.

Lots of people have delegated politics and government to politicians, don't want to invest more time and energy into it, and as a result the bigots have captured politics and government.

It's not high road vs low road. It's getting rubber on the road!
