@rahaeli.bsky.social I wonder if you have any thoughts on this whole thing (from a moderation/T&S perspective)
rahaeli (@rahaeli.bsky.social):
Don't know any of the background for the vagueposting, don't have the time or energy to acquire it, as a genera principle keep in mind that enforcement actions take place in the context of any/all prior violations on the account and a suspend for something "minor" could be a last-strike
Tony Wong (@thevballdude.bsky.social):
Thank you for replying. I'll have to admit that stuff like this makes composable moderation a little less appealing to me (what's the point if a user can be banned just as easily?) And suspending a user also removes all their previous posts, which breaks threads and hurts the user experience.
rahaeli (@rahaeli.bsky.social):
If someone has repeatedly demonstrated an inability to remain within the boundaries of the Terms of Service, allowing them to remain on the service is a dumbfrick idea
Ms. Penny Oaken (@skywitches.net):
And there is a species of bad actor who are publicly Sweet Cinnamon Rolls UwU who are simultaneously doing things in public that seem OK, while also doing things in non-public ways that are evil, & then leverage the inevitable ban to scream "Admins are corrupt! Watch [service] Die! Get Angry!"
Ms. Penny Oaken (@skywitches.net):
And admins who want to comply with privacy regs generally have to grin and bear it silently
