congrats to Brianna Wu for finally coming out as trans. it is unfortunate she is only doing so to attack trans rights.
the "new" DSM-V Brianna is referring to was published over a decade ago in 2013.
the older DSM-IV was published in 1994 and included diagnostic criteria for conversion therapy.

The problem with the DSM-IV in specific is that the axes model it used for scoring dysphoria would literally be used to deny treatment if someone lived in a supporting & accepting society, culture, religion, career, family. "Everyone accepts you're trans? No external source of dysphoria? No meds!"
