The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

I had an aunt who was addicted to AM Radio & Fox News. She'd get me to fix her computer & TV & drive her places. She'd constantly admonish me to "Do your own research!", as that was one of the "magic phrases" sold to her by those propaganda outlets.

Her "research" was reading Facebook group posts

She refused to wear seat belts, up to the day that Texas passed a law making the driver criminally liable for passengers not wearing them. She claimed they were useless and a symbol of control. This was how badly the poison had ahold of her.
