For 20 years, Fox News & Co have drilled "Do Your Own Research" into their audience, b/c it's a variant of the confidence scam opener line, "I trust you to see the truth".

They've lost all ability to accept knowledge from experts - they only accept information from their pundits.

If there's any message, I want people to know, it's that YouTube and Google are the same algorithm, and telling someone to "google it" is one of the most harmful things to say to a conspiracy theorist that got into it through YouTube.

The problem isn't a lack of knowledge — we live in a time when 10x more knowledge is available to us than the best-connected academics had just 40 years ago.

The problem is their emotional motives. They do not want, & will resist, delegating "authority" to anyone that will contradict them.
