Yes and its all cope avg Jap cannot be told apart from avg Chinese and both know it and they have always known it. You can't ideology people away from seeing the truth. They hated each other over same issues of land, primacy in neighbourhood and so on that has made neighbours war on each other for millenia, not race autism. Euros meanwhile going back to Westphalia had clearly distinguished their sphere from rest of world and had set codes for treating their own while they continued to treat other races with bronze age barbarism, despite having those same political quibbles, that's true racism. Japan was also birthplace of pan Asianism which was a truly racist ideology. It failed for same reason Chinese sponsored pan Asianism fails today, those quibbles continue to be seen as more important than other issues that should be a common goal of the collective race(like not letting half their countries become open air brothels for Frank incels). On the opposite side, when Jap businesses were at one point dominating corporate America, when China dominates industry you see actual naked xenophobia from professed libs in the West about the rise of Asia but when American soldiers r*pe little girls in Okinawa barely any Japanese complains. Wrong, this is an outsider Pahjeet's sub 80IQ ignorance and a very western "arr rook same" view of East Asian people. Might as well say Tibetans and Koreans see themselves as part of the same race. The native Chinese/Japanese/Korean/East-Asians themselves have historically viewed their differences from an ethnic lens, not just a cultural one. You're grossly underestimating how important origin mythologies and ancestry are to East Asian people. Idk how you can point out the absurdity of pan-asianism and then not realize that it failed because yes distinct racial identities have always existed in Asia. Even the discovery of DNA was more recent, the concept of blood has existed for a long time.
Again this is not restricted to just Euros, especially the part about having set codes for treating their own vs treating outsiders. This is a weird, specifically western leftoid take about the supposed uniqueness of European colonialism that obscures a lot of the complexities of other cultures. Europeans were not the only people to come up with the idea of race, which is a concept is seen in cultures extended back to thousands of years. The most you can pin on them is coming up with the idea of "white", which itself was only somewhat consistent in the new world (America) where various European groups just mixed together and lost their national identities, further fueled by the reality of having a slave class that was increasingly blurring the lines between "white" and "black". Meanwhile in European "white" was a complete clusterfrick of a concept that differed person to person (i.e. nazis excluding slavs and including turks as "white").
