I think you severely underestimate the stupidity of both myself and the general population, @nuclearshill. In America losing the paternal surname in favor of the husband's is the standard, so we just went with that. At the time I didn't really think about it.

Most Brazilian married foids go by their husband's surnames, they just don't lose their maiden names. Not adding their husband surname is a new phenomenon here.
