The document describes gender-affirming surgery as violating God's gift of human dignity and as attempting to play God on the surgeon's table during a "s*x-change intervention." An exception was made for surgery to correct "genital abnormalities," which healthcare professionals could help "resolve," the declaration said.
God totally knows what he's doing and you shouldn't interfere, unless he made an oopsie and really mangled the kid's junk, in which case the surgeons can straighten things out. They're really not thinking this predestination thing through.
This is like how St. Thomas Aquinas said a woman could wear makeup to cover up disfigurement from injury or disease, but wearing makeup to look prettier than she really is makes her a filthy prostitute.
