When I was 26 I dated a 40 year old. No idea at the time of meeting, I thought she was late 20s to 30. She was that pretty, thin, "exotic" race mixture type of look, and still holding it together. Dead serious I didn't think she was a day over 30 at the most initially. She was basically someone who coasted through life because she was so fricking hot and the wall was just starting to make itself apparent (again, she lasted a lot longer than most) and she was having an absolute existential crisis / breakdown about it. It was sort of terrifying to be around. She may as well have had terminal cancer in her own mind, how she was able to live her entire life was coming to an end soon. It seemed like she was self-aware enough to know that. I tried but couldn't deal for long.
She wasn't dumb, not at all. But had no practical skills for... anything. An "artist." She was a precocious, bright, 40 year old child in a lot of ways.
