tbh I actually had a pet calf for a while and they also have personality.
I honestly prefer hunting animals because it's perfect, one minute they're a happy deer chilling in the outdoors then they're not. And it happens instantly. it is a absolutely the most humane method of getting meat imo, plus you get to reconnect with nature as a man should
