apples hardware is great, too bad its way too fricking expensive for what it does. That said if microsoft makes windows any fricking worse i might start seriously considering just installing TempleOS or some shit because holy shit does it have a bunch of easy to hate qualities.

thats a pretty wild endeavor. what does writing an OS entail, do you like just start etching 101000101011001 into a small piece of metal or something

Well first you have to have a revelation from god and understand that you've been chosen as prophet to guide His flock to salvation. Then the second bit is writing a bunch of algorithms to manage process execution, memory allocation, I/O, drivers, and a system calls interface which can all be done in plain C as long as you don't use the stdlib, or rust depending on how neurodivergent you are. The only assembly you have to write is for the bootloader which starts your C kernel, so no need for machine code or anything like that. Also you can use an emulator like QEMU to run it so you don't have to touch metal at all.
