I think it started that way, "it'll go as fast as the bandwidth lets it go." I remember my buddy set up an FTP and sent me Quake 2 in a few minutes. I guess that's only impressive for its day because it was around 30 MB, you can take a photo with your phone bigger than that.

Unironically, we made our own. And by we, I mean neurodivergents with way too much time on their hands. So many custom maps, idk if anyone could truly know them all. Zombies, Scouts and Knives, AWP only, surfing, pistols, gun game all with custom maps amd custom servers with their own progression to go with them. It would blow a zoomer's mind to even play a game where you can upload any image that exists on the internet and spam it endlessly.
