I think it's because women often think they're in a relationship when they aren't. They're either casually monogamous with one guy and the guy doesn't say he's in a relationship.

Or she's in a chad harem.

Another explanation I've heard is that these women are all dating older men but then you should see the opposite effect in another age group, and you don't as far as I know.

People don't start seriously dating until they're 25+ these days which results in a lot of 25-29 women dating 30-34 men. The average age at first marriage has been increasing significantly because of this and people wonder why young men are in such a state of arrested development when they live at home with their parents instead of building a family with a women resulting in being married by his mid-to-late 20s.
