Saw the new capeshit yesterday

The story opens with the hero watching the blonde love of his life marry her BBC bull in front of all their family and friends. He then encounters a non-binary Latinx interdimensional being named America whose personal universe speaks a language coincidentally identical to our Earth's Spanish. She has been traveling across the multiverse, and even though she has barely been on this Earth for a few minutes, she is sporting an LGBT+BIPOC pin on her denim jacket. They set off on an adventure to find her two moms. As they bound across the multiverse, a hysterical spinster whose biological clock is approaching doomsday tries to kill them to get her anti-patriarchy cookbook back. They meet another universe's Avengers which call themselves the Illuminati. The spinster quickly kills the feeble males with her mind and then engages in a protracted battle with the strong, independent women. They defeat the spinster with the power of love and never find America's two moms.

The effects were sometimes actually quite cool. I liked undead winged Dr Strange. The plot was just shallow and random and I didn't care whatsoever what would happen to the characters. I'd forgotten that they never found the lesbo mums because I just didn't care.

Agreed. I actually liked the first Strange, and for a sequel about a teleporting wizard, the plot made sense. The woke checkboxes were an eye-roll at worst. Zombie Strange was well done. Too bad Dark Knight didn't have that level of CGI for Two Face.

The issue I had with the plot was that everything appeared and disappeared without any sense. e.g. if those winged creatures had been haunting him from the beginning and in the final battle he finally gets them under control, that would have been a nicer plot. As it was though they appeared completely at random and then disappeared again a few minutes later without much explanation either way. Same goes for that book that was introduced as a world changing event and then was just quickly deleted from the plot without any real explanation.

Good points. One thing I noticed about Hobbit/LOTR is that Tolkien uses deus ex machina to get the characters out of trouble, while in GOT, Martin would use it to put them into trouble and they'd have to make effort to solve problems.
