The honest truth is that hatred of homosexuality has more to do with the World Wars than it does the Bible. During WWI and WWII, they really didn't want any homosexual troops because they were thought to be "cowardly", so they had psychologists pre-screen the teens to look for the ones that were "latent homosexual" to kick them out.
