The Royal Australian Air Force has ferried head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State, His Holiness Pope Francis on his travels around Papua New Guinea.
RAAF supported the travel of the Pope to Vanimo where he is visiting local congregations including the Argentinian missionary group the Institute of the Incarnate Word.
His Holiness was carried aboard C-130 aircraft overseen by RAAF 37 Squadron, members of the official delegation.
"The Christian faith reaches into some of the most remote parts of Papua New Guinea and Australia. And we are honoured and proud to be able to support our PNG friends on this momentous occasion," said Australian High Commission Papua New Guinea.
Members of the High Commission community joined thousands of faithful at the Holy Mass hosted by His Holiness Pope Francis in Port Moresby.
Obviously, the Vatican doesn't trust any Papua New Guinean pilots to transport His Holiness safely. Tbh, I probably wouldn't trust a PNGan to open a can of fish that was already open.

I will glory not because I am righteous but because I am redeemed; I will glory not because I am free from sins but because my sins are forgiven me. I will not glory because I have done good nor because someone has done good to me but because Christ is my advocate with the Father and because the blood of Christ has been shed for me.
-St. Ambrose
