"Evil must not be hidden, it must be in the open, discovered, as some of the abused did with courage … so that the abuser is judged, whether they be a layman or a laywoman, a priest or a bishop, that they be judged. The word of God is clear."
That language drew applause, but on another front, the Pope's treatment of the role of women in the Church, some Belgians weren't so pleased.
During the Sunday Mass, every time a woman took the microphone, some women in the crowd stood dressed in white as a protest over the refusal to ordain female priests.
The gesture came a day after the Catholic University of Louvain publicly upbraided Francis for expressing positions on the role of women it called "deterministic and reductive".
Remember how women on twitter were saying that they don't want to infiltrate all the male-only spaces
He also condemned instances when "a woman wants to be a man" – remarks that drew criticism from the university itself, and from students in attendance.
Woman, am I right, fellas?

Aren't a good portion of tradcaths crypto-sedes at this point? I'm from outside the church just looking in, but the way everyone shittalks the pope so openly makes it seem like the entire catholic church is sitting on a flimsy house of cards.
I couldn't imagine Mormons or even protestant churches so brazenly insulting their leadership, with utter contempt and hatred.

They are yeah. Pope Francis has said some things that became poor soundbytes when paraphrased and abused by the media but calling him a heretic/V2 an ecumenical council false teaching/whatever is worse. Dealing with left wing heretics is logistically a different beast because it would require excommunicating half of Europe and starting a new Reformation.
It's also worth noting that the expanded Latin Mass scene was opened up in an attempt to bring existing schismatics in the SSPX, CMRI, etc. back to full communion with Rome but instead has served to accomplish the opposite and normalize attitudes of being the "true Church within the Church" at best and open disobedience/schism at worst. @misterwigger

That part of Trad history is straightforward. Immediately after V2 a Bishop and a bunch of priests broke communion with Rome and were excommunicated by St. Pope John Paul II. Their movement grew rather than shrunk, Popes instead decided to offer them the ability to come back into communion with their own private Order with permanent rights to offer the Latin Mass (FSSP is former SSPX) and tried to initiate dialogue.
Each attempt has failed, the problem has spiraled and schismatics dominate the discourse on most social media, Pope Francis says enough and shuts down the Diocesan TLM activity to try to avoid breeding a generation of radicalized zoomers/gen alphas.

I thought the old school mass was still allowed? Are they completely not in communion? Have their own pope and everything?

Diocesan TLM is generally being shut down, at least in the USA the ones continuing have been told they can't advertise for Latin services. FSSP, ICKSP, and the several other Societies devoted to the Latin Mass are likely to be allowed to continue as is. Societies like that are under the direct supervision of their own Bishop and Rome as opposed to the diocesan Bishop (whose authority is limited to granting them permission to operate in their area or not).
SSPX, CMRI, and the other "Rad Trads" are not in full communion in the sense that they openly disobey any and all commands from Rome, though some of these groups will make gestures towards it e.g. including mention of Pope Francis during the Consecration.

Why are people so invested in doing mass in latin or not? It's strange to use a dead language to me, but it doesn't seem like a big deal

Catholicism recognizes three equal authorities in matters of faith - Scripture, the Magisterium, and Tradition. Latin has been the official language of the Church since the 4th century with St. Jerome's Vulgate being the official translation for the entire Church for almost 1500 years. The inscriptions on the Holy Cross proclaiming Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in His Crucifixion were, per the Gospels, also in three languages: Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
As far as the inner Church politics it's not so much about the liturgical language (that's the narrative at the level of the laity, and understandably many old people including Tolkien were very upset when the Mass changed suddenly overnight) and is instead much more about a shift from the "Popes Pius" (IX-XII) era of neo-Scholasticism and a moral theology centered around St. Alphonsus Liguori towards a Church in open dialogue with the modern world, with the Eastern Christians, and to a lesser extent with the Protestants as well.

The Latin Mass is not just "saying mass but using Latin", it's a whole different liturgy/ceremony, with chanting and stuff that doesn't exist in modern Novus Ordo masses. they like it because it feels more religious to them I guess. personally I understand the way they feel about it because it does feel a lot more mystical and spiritual, but they take it way too far by outright trashing modern mass which isn't nearly as bad as they say it is. they constantly insult the music that gets sung in mass nowadays but when I was growing up I loved those songs, a lot of people like the music in Novus Ordo and there's nothing wrong with that.

There are some TLM organizations which are in coummication with the respective Diocese and with Rome but since people online want to look cool they will larp as Sede. It is a very vocal minority which invloves conspiracies to schism amongst the Sede.
As well there is a really progessive version of Catholic called Old Catholics they broke apart from Rome since Vatican 1 https://www.catholic.com/encyclopedia/old-catholics

Well, I never said it was by accident.
And I wasn't visiting their parish (this time), but I went hiking with one of their priests due to a mutual connection.
They do have a historical church in Bern, so they are worth visiting as long as you are not operating under 40k inquisitor mentality.

Good. Maybe some women in the clergy will force the preists to hide their degeneracy a little bit.
Edit: my bad for quoting the pope who said their school is full of cute twinkry.

If women are allowed into the catholic clergy, the degeneracy will skyrocket. Apart from child molestation scandals, they will now have to deal with bestiality scandals as well.

I'm a woman and I wish I could support women as priests because I don't hate my gender but it's an undeniable fact that as soon as you let women become preachers/ministers/whatever you call your local religious leader it either starts or accelerate an inevitable slide into sparkle creed gay libshit
there's some tough old b-word nuns who would never turn out like that but those aren't the ones seeing priesthood. the women who are attracted to that path are the exact wrong ones to have it.

Dang i just saw your comment and this is a really good point, if a bunch of Nuns or sisters wanted to be Priests i think id be a lot more sympathetic to them because theyd at least be dedicated to the church already, but (and i cant speak for this lady in this vid) the women i usually see protesting or making vids about being priests just look like lay women whose kids are old enough to not want to listen to her bullshit anymore so shes trying to find another group to scold.

"O Lord, grant us that love which can never die, which will enkindle our lamps but not extinguish them, so that they may shine in us and bring light to others. Most dear Savior, enkindle our lamps that they may shine forever in your temple. May we receive unquenchable light from you so that our darkness will be illuminated and the darkness of the world will be made less. Amen." - Saint Columba of Iona
