Hey gang. I'm Godless protestant and I'm taking a tour of the monasteries at Meteora in a few days. Mostly I'm bragging, but besides the obvious stuff like bringing appropriate clothing and not taking pictures where I don't have the blessing do any ortho-chads have advice on what to focus in on to grow my spirit?

There's a place for you in the Church, of course, as God made you.
God made you trans sweety
There's a place for all God's people. We should want everyone no matter their past/history in the church seeking God. The most important thing for you will be to find a priest you're comfortable with. I don't think any of them will affirm transgenderism, but they shouldn't treat you with disgust or disdain. You might find people who aren't pleasant to be around. The church is full of sinners who don't live up to God's glory. Do you have a few Eastern Orthodox parishes to choose from in your area? If so, I would visit them until you find one you're comfortable with.
surround yourself with ONLY yes-men
The church is a hospital to the soul for all people. I can't say you won't meet some resistance, but they are sinners the same as everyone else. Both in this subreddit and in my local parish, there is compassion for people with gender dysphoria and the mental suffering it brings. You may be interested in reading about St. Marina the Monk who lived most of her life as a man. There's also Vuk Adžić, a trans man who was baptized a few years ago in Montenegro. It's also not rare for women to take male patron saints.

Amaziah, priest of Bethel, said to Amos,
"Off with you, visionary, flee to the land of Judah!
There earn your bread by prophesying,
but never again prophesy in Bethel;
for it is the king's sanctuary and a royal temple."
Amos answered Amaziah, "I was no prophet,
nor have I belonged to a company of prophets;
I was a shepherd and a dresser of sycamores.
The LORD took me from following the flock, and said to me,
Go, prophesy to my people Israel."

Responsorial Psalm
R. (8) Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.
I will hear what God proclaims;
the LORD —for he proclaims peace.
Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him,
glory dwelling in our land.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.
Kindness and truth shall meet;
justice and peace shall kiss.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
and justice shall look down from heaven.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.
The LORD himself will give his benefits;
our land shall yield its increase.
Justice shall walk before him,
and prepare the way of his steps.
R. Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens,
as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world,
to be holy and without blemish before him.
In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ,
in accord with the favor of his will,
for the praise of the glory of his grace
that he granted us in the beloved.
In him we have redemption by his blood,
the forgiveness of transgressions,
in accord with the riches of his grace that he lavished upon us.
In all wisdom and insight, he has made known to us
the mystery of his will in accord with his favor
that he set forth in him as a plan for the fullness of times,
to sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth.
In him we were also chosen,
destined in accord with the purpose of the One
who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will,
so that we might exist for the praise of his glory,
we who first hoped in Christ.
In him you also, who have heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him,
were sealed with the promised holy Spirit,
which is the first installment of our inheritance
toward redemption as God's possession, to the praise of his glory.

Gospel
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two
and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
He instructed them to take nothing for the journey
but a walking stick—
no food, no sack, no money in their belts.
They were, however, to wear sandals
but not a second tunic.
He said to them,
"Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave.
Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you,
leave there and shake the dust off your feet
in testimony against them."
So they went off and preached repentance.
The Twelve drove out many demons,
and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

I say this as a 23 year old conservative, Project 2025 is an absolute disaster if it were to be implemented. Sure some of it may be good for society, but overall, it is one big disaster that would only inch America closer to totalitarianism. I've read around 600 pages (I'm bored at work, I get paid to sit around as there is no work to do rn) and for every single good there there's like a million brain dead ideas on governance.
I am a firm believer, but I do not see why EVERYONE should be mandated to have Christian material in their schools. I do not see why abortion should be illegal for everyone, I do not see why ending programs for the poor is a good idea, I do not see how, as a soldier, using the armed forces for domestic protests is a good idea. Religion and government should stay separate.
Don't take this as me being pro on any of these subjects, but rather, one must be mindful that we are sharing this country with other people who don't have our same beliefs. Should we educate others on why certain things are wrong? Sure, but it is not for the government to ENFORCE. Education is for schools, values are for the household. If you want religious education, Catholic schools exist.
One of the most sinister of the proposed policies was putting an end to anti-discriminatory laws that prevented protections of protected classes in federal environments. Really? So now we're going to hate a gay man for being gay? Is that what we've come to? Hate the sin, not the sinner.

While previous versions of the document said that unborn children have a "fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed" and called for a constitutional amendment to guarantee that right, this year's platform uses much more moderate language and emphasizes the role of states in protecting life.
It reads: "We proudly stand for families and life. We believe that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees that no person can be denied life or liberty without due process, and that the states are, therefore, free to pass laws protecting those rights."
The platform goes on to laud the overturn of Roe v. Wade and then express support for prenatal care, birth control, and in vitro fertilization (IVF).
"After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the states and to a vote of the people. We will oppose late-term abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance prenatal care, access to birth control, and IVF," the new document reads.
I'm officially not voting in the federal election this year, I will for my state stuff still.

Normally Christian drama can be a little tedious, but this is good stuff.
Mark Driscoll was a pastor for Mars Hill Church back in the 90s until 2014, when it came out he was writing books that he plagiarised big parts of and used $200k of church money to buy copies of his book to help pump up sales, after which he fell into a bunch of scandals and got fired. You can listen to a podcast about it here if you care for some reason.
Since then he's been working a better job: Christian shitposting on Twitter. Now this man is a master. He does the normal rightoid trainposting, seethes about Mormons and whores, but unlike the pathetic ordinary rightoid who can only hate Indians and women, Pastor Mark knows who the real problems are:
He starts strong:
Naturally, people seethe over the truth
Pastor Mark doesn't give a frick, though. He's preaching the True Word of God.
People are still mad.
Firstly, yes, every Mormon is unsaved. They're the atheists of black people.
Palestoids naturally chime in.
The good Pastor don't give a frick, though:
Naturally he keeps putting out the hits:
This one gets Coach involved, though.
People still seethe at him
In any case, I hope you enjoyed this brief foray into modern Christianity.

That I, Paul, might not become too elated,

I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses,

Gospel
Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples.
When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue,
and many who heard him were astonished.
They said, "Where did this man get all this?
What kind of wisdom has been given him?
What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands!
Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary,
and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon?
And are not his sisters here with us?"
And they took offense at him.
Jesus said to them,
"A prophet is not without honor except in his native place
and among his own kin and in his own house."
So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,
apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.
He was amazed at their lack of faith
-Mark 6:1-6
___________________________________________________________________________________________
The Gospel reading is pretty funny. Jesus can't perform miracles in his hometown because to everyone there, he's just the carpenter who quit his job at 30 to wander around aimlessly.
What sticks out to me from all the readings today most is the second reading. "When I am weak, then I am strong." One of the greatest mistakes a Christian can make is believing that he is holy. Any grace one has comes from God, not from oneself. I'm reading Saint Augustine's confessions right now and he makes the same point but about himself. All the wisdom he has is because God has gifted it to him. And this is why Saint Paul says he is strong when he is weak, as when he is most honest about his own incapacity for good, he is most able to see God's grace.

If there is any tale that is notorious in the Bible, it is that of Sodom and Gomorrah. It is a tale of death, temptation, circumcision, and bussy. There are many lessons to learn from the scripture which has often been misinterpreted. It forms an integral part of Jewish lore and Christian tradition.
Abraham is Warned
When Abram turned 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and said: "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous." (Genesis 17:1-3). No more shall his name be Abram - it shall be Abraham. The Lord goes on to explain:
This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. Throughout your generations every male among you shall be circumcised when he is eight days old, including the slave born in your house and the one bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring. Both the slave born in your house and the one bought with your money must be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant. (Genesis 17:10-14).
===================================================
Notes from Holly!
It is this verse that is the basis for infant circumcision, or brit milah, in Judaism. Circumcision is seen as a sign of the covenant between God and the Jewish people, originating from the covenant made between God and Abraham.
===================================================
Following this, Sarah, who was Abraham's wife, fell pregnant with Ishmael. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, and his son Ishmael was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
Not long after, the Lord pays Abraham a visit and declares that Sodom and Gomorrah are wicked and shall be destroyed. Abraham is worried, as he has his nephew Lot living in Sodom. Hence, he begins to bargain with God. He begins by asking if God will spare the cities if 50 righteous men are found. God agrees. He asks about 45 righteous men, then 40, then 30, then 10 and each time the Lord agrees. This shall be important later.
Abraham's intercessory has been debated among theologians. For some, it is a moment that shows Abraham's righteousness. Abraham's first concern was for any righteous people who might reside in Sodom and Gomorrah. He knew that God was just, and he believed it would be unjust for the righteous to perish along with the wicked. For others, the interaction serves as a teaching moment about God's willingness to listen to the concerns of his faithful followers and to engage in a dialogue with them. It demonstrates God's responsiveness to righteous intercession and his consideration of human appeals.
Ultimately, it doesn't make a difference. If God is omniscient, he knew there would not be 10 innocent souls in the cities, so Abraham's bargaining was futile. Sodom and Gomorrah were going to be destroyed.
Angels Visit Lot
Two angels come to Sodom in the form of man. When Lot saw the men he beckoned them to spend the night at his house. The angels say they will sleep in the square, but Lot insists so the angels follow him home where they are served unleavened bread. Before they could sleep, all the men and youths of Sodom surrounded Lot's house. They demand the following: "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, so that we may know them." (Genesis 19:5).
The men both young and old surrounded Lot's house, and it is implied that the entire population of Sodom is present. They do not care about hospitality. They do not care about consent. They only care about bussy. Lot refuses and he makes a shocking offer: "Look, I have two daughters who have not known a man; let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please; only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof." (Genesis 19:8)
===================================================
Notes from Holly!
So, the topic of Lot offering up his daughters to be r*ped has been debated by theologians. It is accepted by many that the Bible is demonstrating that there are not even 10 righteous men in Sodom - even Lot is depraved. Others claim that it is a matter of cultural norms of the time which put hospitality above all else. For some, this is a feminist issue, and a demonstration of what low of a position women held in society during Biblical times - even guests had a higher position.
===================================================
The men and youths refuse the offer - they want the bussy and will be satisfied by nothing else, not least of all virgin gussy. To protect themselves, the angels produce a blinding light that stops the men and youths from finding the door. The angels then revealed that they have been sent by the Lord to destroy the city and that Lot should flee with his family. Lot warns his sons-in-law but they believe Lot is speaking in jest. The angels say: "Flee for your life; do not look back or stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, or else you will be consumed." (Genesis 19: 17).
Lot and his family flee to a city named Zoar, but it is not without Lot lingering first. This implies that Lot had lived in Sodom for too long and that he had been infected by sin. The city of sin had become his home, and he had grown attached to it. Hence, the angels seize Lot and his family by the hands and rush them out of the city.
Lot's Wife Gets Salty
God got to destroying Sodom and Gomorroh in a manner that resembles the Flood of Genesis. The difference is that instead of water, the Lord sends down sulfur and fire. Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed, but as Lot's family flees, Lot's wife looks back and she becomes a pillar of salt.
Lot and his two daughters were afraid to settle in Zoar so they stayed in the caves nearby. It is there that Lot's daughters secretly decide that they will lie with their father to preserve their lineage. So they get him drunk on wine one night and the firstborn date r*pes him. The next night the other daughter date r*pes him. Thus both became pregnant by their father. The firstborn bore a son named Moab while the younger bore a son named Ben-ammi.
===================================================
Notes from Holly!
It is notable that this situation is a reversal of the previous scenario. Lot wanted to give up his daughters to sexual depravity. Instead, it is his daughters that lead Lot into sexual depravity. Lot gets a taste of his own medicine.
===================================================
So why did Lot's wife turn into a pillar of salt? Some argue that it is another sign of attachment to the city of sin. She was so consumed by Sodom that she had to look back at her home, and she could not be saved. Others say it is a simple matter of disobedience - God gave an instruction, and Lot's wife disobeyed so she was punished. It should be noted that this part of the story parallels that of the tale of original sin. There is a temptation and it is a woman who is unable to resist.
Conclusion
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah serves as a cautionary tale against sexual debauchery and carnal sin. Those who defy God's laws are punished greatly, and it is seen that all characters have both good and bad parts to them. We also learn that God listens to prayer and can be bargained with.

I actually do agree with them that having the Bible mandatory in K-12 would be a disaster given the average intelligence and politics of our public school system teachers. Intro to the NT/OT courses did a number on whatever remnants of faith I had from childhood until I realized they're all humanities morons who privilege wild speculation and relativism on every point of contention.
Also funny to see the back and forth constantly going on there between "Satanism isn't real" and "Satanism is a good thing, actually."

So for those who missed it @Raphael-Ambrosius-Costeau (RIP) said he's leaving because we suck and since I'm probably the most user left I volunteered to take over. I'll try to put more effort into including some historical fun facts and invite you all to deepen your interest and devotion to Holy Mother Church.
Since the miraculous healings and resurrection of a child speak to the power of God without further exposition, I will instead focus on the Church Fathers and martyrs of the faith, Ss. Peter and Paul. Bishop Barron's Sunday sermons are more poignant than anything I could write anyway:
Today is officially the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time and as it falls the day after the Feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul it is considered an external solemnity which may be honored in your local parish at the discretion of the priest. In America I know my local parish does so but here where we went this morning the homily focused on the miracles and mercy of Our Lord from the daily passage in Mark 5.
In the old Tridentine liturgical calendar the 30th of June was feast to the 4th century martyrs Ss. John and Paul (not the apostles) whose memory have largely faded from the modern Catholic consciousness. Their lives are recorded in Acts of Ss. John and Paul for which I can not locate an English translation online but you can read a summary either here or in the Catholic Encyclopedia here. I find the Roman era of the Church generally fascinating and have developed a passion for reading hagiographies so I thought I'd give them a shout out.
Ss. John and Paul, let us never forget your sacrifice, pray for us to attain the faith of our martyrs.
So all Christians are well aware of the significance of St. Peter, Leader of the Apostles, and of St. Paul, our most significant theologian. However, in recent years the rise of "religious studies" departments have broadly called into question the veracity of our Sacred Traditions. St. Peter was famously crucified on an upside down cross, deeming himself unworthy of sharing the death of Christ (much to the chagrin of would-be edgy teens and ) and St. Paul was beheaded during the Neronian persecution following a fire that spread throughout the city. But is this true?
I submit to you, my brothers and sisters in Christ, the following attestations from our Church Fathers:
But not to dwell upon ancient examples, let us come to the most recent spiritual heroes. Let us take the noble examples furnished in our own generation. Through envy and jealousy the greatest and most righteous pillars [of the church] have been persecuted and put to death. Let us set before our eyes the illustrious apostles. Peter, through unrighteous envy, endured not one or two, but numerous labours; and when he had at length suffered martyrdom, departed to the place of glory due to him. Owing to envy, Paul also obtained the reward of patient endurance, after being seven times thrown into captivity, compelled to flee, and stoned. After preaching both in the east and west, he gained the illustrious reputation due to his faith, having taught righteousness to the whole world, and come to the extreme limit of the west, and suffered martyrdom under the prefects. Thus was he removed from the world, and went into the holy place, having proved himself a striking example of patience.
First Epistle of St. Pope Clement I to the Corinthians ~70 AD
I know both who I am, and to whom I write. I am a condemned man, you have been the objects of mercy; I am subject to danger, you are established in safety. You are the persons through whom those pass that are cut off for the sake of God. You are initiated into the mysteries of the Gospel with Paul, the holy, the martyred, the deservedly most happy, at whose feet may I be found, when I shall attain to God; who in all his Epistles makes mention of you in Christ Jesus.
Epistle of St. Ignatius of Antioch to the Ephesians c. 98-117 AD
These accountings are further affirmed by the second century theologian Tertullian and recounted by Eusebius in his 4th century Church History:
And that they both suffered martyrdom at the same time is stated by Dionysius, bishop of Corinth, in his epistle to the Romans, in the following words: You have thus by such an admonition bound together the planting of Peter and of Paul at Rome and Corinth. For both of them planted and likewise taught us in our Corinth. And they taught together in like manner in Italy, and suffered martyrdom at the same time. I have quoted these things in order that the truth of the history might be still more confirmed.
It is thus with great confidence that I proclaim the historicity of our Catholic Tradition. Let us all dwell on the contributions, trials, and sufferings of these great and truly Holy men.
Please pray with me:
Grant, we pray, O Lord our God, that we may be sustained by the intercession of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, that, as through them you gave your Church the foundations of her heavenly office, so through them you may help her to eternal salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Ss. Peter and Paul the Apostles, and Ss. John and Paul the Martyrs, pray for us that we may live out the truth of the Gospel and walk in a path modelled and shaped by the perfection of Christ. Amen.

Either one of them can give you pointers, but neither are likely to help if you are not doing so respectfully, and neither will violate the person's free will to indulge you or increase your odds. Generally speaking, as a woman, don't seduce people; it's creepy and gross and none of us want that. The idea that men think they can just seduce us and we'll suddenly like them is honestly disgusting, shallow, and misogynistic; and the absolute last thing I want is to have somebody attempt that garbage on me. Most women will kick "seducers" to the curb in an instant.
Edit: To be honest dude, your entire account and schtick gives off some serious frickboy vibes. It feels really shallow, and pretty creepy. If you want to petition a literal divine being for help with something, it needs to be deeper than getting laid; asking for help seducing people first thing isn't exactly gonna help your case with them.s.
This is your last warning in regards to spreading blatant misinformation for the sake of pushing your morally righteous "free will" narrative. Next time you will get banned
You're encouraging me to not only lie, but also to encourage incel pickup "artists" that treat myself and those like me like pieces of meat.
It's misogynistic garbage, and literally the entire subreddit sees it for exactly what it is; otherwise they wouldn't be getting downmarseyd to heck for it. Read the room.
Also, it isn't about free will; I'm saying they won't because they don't have that power. Mind control isn't a real thing, and it'd take nothing less than mind control to make a woman fall for the creep "seducing" her. I'm not going to encourage buttholes like they to prey on more women, misogynistic crap like this is bad enough for us without introducing another predatory jackass to the mix.

once we have come to the conviction that one died for all;
therefore, all have died.
He indeed died for all,
so that those who live might no longer live for themselves
but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Consequently, from now on we regard no one according to the flesh;
even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh,
yet now we know him so no longer.
So whoever is in Christ is a new creation:
the old things have passed away;
behold, new things have come.

Gospel
On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples:
“Let us cross to the other side.”
Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was.
And other boats were with him.
A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat,
so that it was already filling up.
Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion.
They woke him and said to him,
“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
He woke up,
rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?”
They were filled with great awe and said to one another,
“Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?”
-Mark 4:35-41

I like the part of the Gospel where Jesus has wizard moments . Job is a very sigma book in general, God does a lot of flexing on the puny mortals.
