So I just found out that my daughter's dad is a registered s*x offender. Had no clue. He didn't tell me about the arrest or anything relating to the case. My 10 year old ( doing what kids do) she was googling my name and then googled hers and then, she said well I'm going to google my dad. She googled him and BOOM. There's an article about him meeting up with an undercover officer to buy s*x from a 13 year old. So my kid is reading it and I'm like wait maybe it's wrong. (Just to make her feel better until I figure it out.) nope. She's smarter than that. But here's the thing. She's been living with him for 2 months now. He got arrested last year and convicted last month. He knew about this when she moved with him and didn't tell me anything about this. This is the thing. I am a LEO I sent her with him so I can train and hopefully get a promotion, now this. I know it's eventually going to pop up and I'm going to have to explain this to my agency. I looked up the facts to this case and he knew , well thought he was going to buy s*x from a 13-14 year old girl and didn't. He was arrested. But the confession and reading the text from the undercover stunned me. It crossed the line. Gratefully my kid is with my parents and I called my parents immediately and told them not to let her go back until I figure out what to do. She's not going back. Never will. He's on all of her paper work at school and etc but now he's a registered s*x offender and can't do anything near or around children. I've called and texted him asking for clarity or clarification or something about this and he's ignoring me. My kid is heartbroken and devastated she thinks her dad is a predator and she doesn't want anything else to do with him . I'm just thinking like how long has he been buying s*x from underage girls and never got caught. It's like a slap in the face. You knew you had this open case and didn't even attempt to tell me anything about it and then you let my child come stay with you knowing you were about to be a registered s*x offender. As a LEO I'm embarrassed and I know it's going to hit the town soon and I'm moving far away as I can because I'm not going to keep explaining that. I'm going to file for full custody and extra child support because he can't be around his own kid obviously and now I'm going to be in a messed situation. I'm so mad , I don't know how to feel. I feel stupid because I feel like he played In my face knowing what I do for a living, I feel stupid for letting my kid live with him while I tried to make a better life for us, and I feel sorry for my child ( my mum is a cop and my dad is s*x offender) Should I feel the way that I feel ? Am I overthinking? Not just soliciting prostitution, but under the age of 18. Heck under the age of 16. We're talking 13/14 years old. That's disgusting.
