Biden should have gone with Tammy Duckworth as his VP. She can relate to midwesterners because she's from Chicago, and she can relate to flag-waving Patriots™ because of her military service. Not to mention, she's a pretty consistent progressive and she has no real scandals or baggage, in stark contrast to Harris. Kamala Harris is absolutely despicable. She is as duplicitous and two-faced as it gets, and that's not even touching the tip of her ultra-corrupt iceberg of mass incarceration, fascist authoritarianism, fricking her way to the top, and being a corporate stooge. Harris spent much of her time during the primary debates vigorously slamming Biden for his racist and sexist past, only to then cozy up to him and kiss his butt once she got the offer to be his running-mate. Neoliberals have absolutely no principles of any sort, and they stand for absolutely nothing. It's painfully obvious that Biden only picked Harris because of some idpol checklist, and because he desperately wanted to prove that he wasn't racist or sexist. Boomercrats vigorously ate it up, of course, but I saw absolutely no enthusiasm anywhere else.
If Biden really wanted to win in a landslide, though, he should have convinced Michelle Obama to be his VP. That's who Republicans feared the most. Nothing makes conservatives shit their pants more than the thought of a third term for Obama.
Kamala Harris will soundly defeat Trump this year, but, considering that Trump is a convicted felon and male feminist who tried unsuccessfully to overthrow the government, that isn't exactly saying very much.

The worst part is this was total complete bullshit. She attacked him for opposing busing. Everyone opposed busing. White people didn't like busing. Black people didn't like busing. It was only a small number of fringe weirdos living in ivory towers who supported it. It was entirely a policy pushed by rich white people to screw over poor white kids without helping black kids in any way in order to make themselves feel better.
It wasn't just a lie, it was such a transparently obvious lie that if you know anything about America in the 20th Century you felt insulted that she thought you might believe it.

The slavish devotion to whomever the democrats decide they are going to have as candidate even if they have insanely bad policy just makes it /r/politics but with more undeserved righteousness. Biden was a terrible president. Kamala will be a terrible president. Being better than Trump is an extremely low bar to clear, its ok to admit its a hold your nose vote.
Obama was better than most presidents we have had, neither are even in the same zip code as him.
Wake me up when someone revives TPP, proposes a significant tax increase for all Americans, liberalizes legal immigration or anything else that is actually good neoliberal policy rather than simply better than a dumb as frick orange man. Kamala Harris fought tooth-and-nail to keep nonviolent prisoners locked up. As California Attorney-General, she spent years subverting a 2011 Supreme Court ruling requiring the state to reduce its prison population. In fact, the overseeing judicial panel nearly found the state in contempt of court.
