I could have won the war in Korea in a maximum of 10 days

:#marseysurejan:

I would have dropped between 30 to 50 tactical atomic bombs on his air bases and other depots strung across the neck of Manchuria from just across the Yalu at Antung

We had about 300 nukes at that point, so he's proposing using 10% of our stockpile just to knock out airbases in just this one sector in Asia.

I would then have called upon a half million of Chiang Kai-shek's troops

The Nationalist Chinese were a lot better than they usually get credit for. But let's be honest with ourselves. They fought ChiComs before and they got beaten. You can't assume they would win this time.

[various ideas about doing multiple more amphibious landings]

Incheon was brilliant but then he did another landing at Wonsan. Only problem was, when they got there the ROKs had already liberated Wonsan. It just caused a lot of logistical problems. MacArthur had a great record in WW2 of amphibious landings but that doesn't always work. You can end up with a situation like Anzio where there's a bunch of guys you have to try hard to just keep from getting overrun.

It was my plan as our amphibious forces moved South to spread behind us—from the Sea of Japan to the Yellow Sea—a belt of radioactive cobalt. It could have been spread from wagons, carts, trucks and planes. It is not an expensive material.

This is absolutely fricking ludicrous. If you want to make breast cancer rates go up by 12% there, sure. But the idea that you would make an area so radioactive that people couldn't walk through it is lunacy.

Here's a big secret that Big Anti-Nuclear doesn't want you to know: It is extremely hard to kill a person with radiation from outside their body. Extreme fallout in the first few days of a nuclear war maybe. Otherwise you have to be really close to a nuclear weapon exploding, so close that you would get vaporized anyway if you weren't protected. Like look at the "neutron bomb" that whiny leftoids cried about so much. This was designed to kill guys in tanks. The only way you would get killed by the radiation is if you were inside a tank, because if you weren't inside a tank you would get burned alive. You don't get killed by gamma rays. Gamma rays are so scary because omg they theoretically penetrate so much concrete or whatever. You know what else they do? They penetrate you. Most of them just go right through and keep going. I'd encourage you to check out this series of lectures if you want to know how this stuff works.

The real danger is from alpha and beta rays. "But Papa Redactor" you may be asking "if alpha particles can't penetrate a sheet of paper, how are they a threat to me?" Because you ingest alpha emitters, you r-slur. You're getting irradiated from inside your own body. So you can't use radioactive waste to create this buffer zone because if it's so persistent that it stays for years it must be stuck in the ground where you don't breathe it in and it must be not very radioactive because then it would decay. You would need to a huge industry of making vast amounts of radioactive waste to keep constantly refreshing it.

It was in our power to destroy the Red Chinese Army and Chinese military power—and probably for all time

Lunacy. This would have meant another Chinese civil war lasting years where we would need a million guys over there to tip the balance. And then the Russians would get involved. It's the same basic problem as Vietnam. How far are you willing to take this? Because in order to get a truly decisive victory that ends this war you might have to go all the way to Moscow.

MacArthur is being a lying self-serving b-word (as usual) but there is one real question hinted at here: He wanted more air power, the same level we had in WW2. The Air Force said that they can't keep a war going in Asia with all the stress on airplanes, men, spare parts while at the same time being ready for a full-scale war in Europe. MacArthur said "well frick Europe, they're over, Asia is the next big thing". But he was overruled. I think for good reason, because Asia did become more important but it was until at least the 1980s.

I'm planning on making one actually :marseyfsjal:

But it'll be a general overview of all Egyptian history complete with Capys

So if anyone wants to talk about a more specific time period there's plenty of room

Are you going to use the Templar/CIA-altered history or go into the truth of the 400,000 year Egyptian dynasty that defeated the reptilians and allied with the Nordic Hollow Earth Kingdoms to use sound wave technology go vibrate the crystal structure of the earth using the pyramids to generate unlimited zero-point energy and build deep space arks that have now colonized Alpha Centauri and are in communication with Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un bring about peaceful transition to a type II civilization?

The Hyksos thing should spice the semitic debate up.

Have you read Toby Wilkinson's book on Ancient Egypt? Covers a huge period.

When you say Semitic debate, is this a question on why Egyptian wasn't a Semitic language? I've wondered that myself. I assume the Semitic speaking peoples simply passed through Egypt back in the day but didn't form the culture that would become the Old Kingdom.

The Hyksos were a semitic people, likely Canaanites who conquered are ruled Egypt for a century. Then the Egyptians took over again and expelled them all.

!catholics the Joseph story from the Genesis is likely a collective memory of the Hyksos rule right?

I read it is possible the Exodus could have some basis on the Hyksos expulsion as well.

the Egyptians took over again and expelled them all.

Manetho and Josephus claim that the Hyksos were expelled, but there is no archeological evidence for this (MUCH LIKE LE EXODUS! :soysnootypefast:), and quite the opposite, in fact :marseyshapiro: the Hyksos, and Semites in general remained in Egypt well after they were overthrown:

Although Manetho indicates that the Hyksos population was expelled to the Levant, there is no archaeological evidence for this, and Manfred Bietak argues on the basis of archaeological finds throughout Egypt that it is likely that numerous Asiatics were resettled in other locations in Egypt as artisans and craftsmen.[111] Many may have remained at Avaris, as pottery and scarabs with typical "Hyksos" forms continued to be produced uninterrupted throughout the Eastern Delta.[74] Canaanite cults also continued to be worshiped at Avaris.[112]

From a non-religious POV, yes, even atheistic scholars these days admit that there is a historical basis for the Exodus, even if it is hagiographic and exaggerated for political and religious purposes like the Trojan War, !historychads !christians !catholics !jidf I already wrote a three big comments summarizing arguments in favor of the historicity of the Exodus, from a non-Religious Fundamentalist "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE TRUST THE PLAN PATRIQTS :marseyschizowall:" schizo pseudohistory, it is very possible for you to argue for the historicity of the Exodus with a Fact-Checked Good Faith Peer-Reviewed Science-Affirming Evidence-Filled PhD. Edit:

I incorrectly wrote "Israelites" in my first comment in there, but this is somewhat inaccurate, when Avaris (the main Semitic city in Egypt) was abandoned during the reign of Ramesses II, the Semites who abandoned it and presumably migrated to somewhere (i.e. Canaan :marseyserioushatfact:) were a mixed multitude (עֵרֶב רַב - Erev Rav, as said in the Book of Exodus) of various Semitic peoples, so the claim that "Israelites were never in Egypt :soyreddit:" is redundant, because the peoples of the Exodus were not only the descendants of Israel (Jacob), but a mixed multitude of various Semites who were not the Children of Israel at all, and from a religious POV, the mixed multitude and the Children of Israel only became united as a single people when they made their covenant with YHWH in Mount Sinai, and as shown in the Merneptah Stele, Israel was already a thing by around 1208 BCE

Genesis 50:

25 So Joseph made the Israelites swear, saying, "When God comes to you, you shall carry up my bones from here."

Joseph 24:

32 The bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem, in the portion of ground that Jacob had bought from the children of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for one hundred pieces of money; it became an inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.

https://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/news/the-expulsion-of-the-hyksos/

I don't think it's conclusive or especially well grounded as a theory, the Hyksos traditionally were associated with Phoenicians as well IIRC. Anyway, the Bible does contradict that theory which would mean I'd want strong evidence. !Catholics
