This comment section is disgusting. There are many factors that contribute to weight gain, even more so for women. Obesity isn’t as simple as calories in, calories out. This is some ignorant BS right here. She could eat regular healthy meals and still have weight issues. That comment is soooo out of line.

None of my close family are fat, and few of my friends are, so I don't hear their arguments often. But I was hanging out this one time with a fat friend of mine and his fat wife. The arguments/reasoning I heard really baffled me. Like it's basically "well everyone in my family is fat so it's clearly genetic, we don't have any control over it". Fat women (and, to a lesser extent, fat men) literally believe that being fat is like being tall, you just are fat and it's not something you can change, that it's as much determined by your genes as your eye color.
But to address
It's because fat people are a wide (heh) majority now. They're in control. As a politician you can't say/do something that negatively impacts fatties because they make up most of the voter base and will vote your butt out for daring to criticize their life choices.

I dislike quite a few fat people because in Western society, they tend to preach "body positivity" as a way to shame people into dating them, just like many trains do. If somebody's not attracted to you - for whatever reason - just STFU and take the L, don't go into some delusionary world where the other person is the fatphobic/transphobic/homophobic bad guy for not seeing your "inner beauty."
That said, I don't think it's cool to attack random fatties just for being fat. A few of my good friends are fatties. They made a conscious decision to be fat because they love food more than they care about other people's opinions, and as long as that's a conscious decision, I can respect it. I don't believe in picking fights with people unless they come at me.
