What is it with restaurants making their entrees so fricking big these days? My wife and I share every time we go out and we're always looked at like we're poor or something. No, we're just not fat fricks.
You try serving a meal that's the proper size for a healthy adult, and 50%+ of your American customer base is going to complain that it's too small, leave bad reviews, and never come back. The more expensive the restaurant, the smaller the serving because the clientele paying for upscale dining is in better shape and understands things like portion control.
Depending on the situation and food, I sometimes like having leftovers for lunch the next day.
But yeah it's sometimes ridiculous. IMO for two people you should be able to order an entree each and an app to share and that should be about the right amount of food.
Same, and it doesn't even require planning to "eat lightly" due to portion sizes. It feels like a waste to order an appetizer now because every entree is frickhuge.
Although once a month I'll splurge and order a huge burger at 5 Guys, and it'll be the only thing I eat that day
