Italians are so pathetic it makes me want to laugh. Their nation lost any sort of relevance centuries before they were born, and is now inhabited by poor and greasy wops. They desperately cling to the sanctity of such culinary marvels as "putting tomato sauce on noodles", food created to be palatable for toddlers, because it's they only part of their cultural identity they have left. What they, and all other Europeans forget, is that they exist merely as vassal states for the US, and as such, their food and culture is ours to do whatever we wish with, because they are utterly powerless to do anything about it.
