Once an Ukrainian asked me some questions on Yoga, I said I personally do weights in gym and not well versed with yoga. She replied, "we should do yoga, after all we are Aryans." π
Unrelated but I was at a tiny pilgrim town sort of recently, high up in the Himalayas. So I'm walking the market in the afternoon and this massive procession of ~100 mayoskins dressed like us passes by singing hymns and stuff. Their hymns don't really go with the goddess the place is dedicated to but w/e. Then I go to the health center the next morning and there's a harried doctor trying to talk with this four-five middle aged Russian(I think might be some nearby language) none of whom speak English. I wonder how they fell down the pipeline to the point they're dancing barefeet through streets in some tiny pilgrim town in India without speaking any English.

I have never seen snow in my life don't rub it in
I'm going to see it definitely before this year is up. I was like 15 km away on a decent trek trail(I crossed it when I was like 5 so pretty easy) but my parents are old now so no treks. I'd definitely find snow at the Ganga's source, sometimes I feel like just walking along it when I have to turn away still being a snowcel while snow capped peaks tower over the horizon. Same when I was 5 they got me through it promising I'd see snow and I get there its fricking rocks. I can see the snow parts, I start walking towards them but oh no that's a more difficult trek and you can't go there.
Its so far off even going there takes days from the plains in a car and traveling like a poorstrag that long would be painful. Still I will make that journey in December, I want snow.

Everyone whoβs come to Canada whoβs never seen snow loves it the first time it is kinda magical to see and Iβve witnessed it a few times from people whoβve come from India.
Then itβs always the same after 2 weeks they fricking hate snow.
Snow is nice if youβre riding in a sleigh in a forest under a blanket. Itβs not nice when you step out of your car and your foot gets plunged into a semi frozen slush puddle you canβt see and your foot is wet up to your ankles.
Or when youβve shovelled the driveway for the 3rd time that day and the fricking snow plough comes and clears the street but piles 4 feet of hard packed snow at the base of your drive and looking at it makes your chest hurt.

Itβs still magic for me even though I spend big chunk of my childhood not far from arctic and had couple of midnight days a year. Itβs magic because when there a lot of snow there are few frickers outside. I hire in Netherland when itβs sunny there are tons of people outside

Dumb but kinda whatever. History and social/politics books are often biased towards whatever views the author has. The only reliable school books and shit are stuff like math or science, but in USA even the latter include bullshit lately to not offend the non binaries, s or whatever

I mean, theyβre both Indo-European, so like the same relationship that Sanskrit has with English, Farsi or Gaelic, I suppose.
Who gives a shit? Iβm taking the Twitoidβs word for whatever that jibberjabber translates to.
Speaking of Indo-European, always wondered why the Basque people donβt get counted as indigenous people considering they were there like prior to the Kurgans mobbing through and colonizing Europe
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
Because βindigenousβ just means whatever people want it to mean. Like some change the meaning to mean βtribal peopleβ or people are with a βspecial attachmentβ to the land in tenure and usage but then they include all Injuns in the Americas as βindigenousβ despite many being former empires and civilizations like the Maya, Zapotec, Ayamara while pastoral Latinx people like gauchos or llaneros or African descendants and maroon who live in literal tribes are not. Indigenists are such cute twinks

A couple of little things that happened to me since I put sodomy behind me. Dogs stopped barking at me. Friends say it's because I don't smell like blacks any more. But alsoβand I can't fully explain thisβI started to care about spoilers. I once posted HAN SOLO DIES on Twitter and lost 2,500 followers and reveled in it. But I'd be furious now to read that, and wouldn't inflict it on others (Star Wars cringe aside), because my viewing and reading habits are changing. I used to watch and read for color, texture, pattern, theme, atmosphere and didn't care what happened to the people in the story. So I liked Wilde and Rothko and TV sci fi. But now I find myself caring how the plot resolves itself. I want to know how it ends. I enjoy art for more than just the surface textures and historical contexts and political dimensions. Things matter, and what happens to people and to things matters to me.
I think I would say my focus has shifted to the story because I have stopped running from the ultimate storyβour universal origin story. The story of the eternal mysteries of the universe. And I care about what happens to people in stories because, for the first time ever, I finally care what happens to me.

Russian mystics generally go two ways.
Most common is hardcore Orthodox. I would even toss Old Believers or Molokans into that bucket.
The other is Traditionalism (for want of a better term). When Dugan talks about Tradition, he means this sort of esoteric religion. The followers claim it is the oldest, ur-religion everything else comes from. Evola too supposedly followed this but I ain't going down that rabbit hole. It is supposedly the religion of the ancient Aryans and supposed to be the root of Hinduism (Nazi's used the Hindu swastika and.other esoteric symbols), Buddhism (especially Tibetan Diamond vehicle) or even esoteric forms of Sunni Islam.
to, dr the Russians you met were some sort of religious nutters. But you already knew that.

Itβs very common in Russian circles to promote this idea that Ukrainian kids are being forced to learn about Bandera and fascism, with these alleged βtextbooksβ that are actually just random WW2 books that were available in a library. So they are pushing this angle hard that Ukrainian education has been corrupted and their culture needs saving
https://www.stopfake.org/en/ntv-reports-of-insurgent-children-s-text-book-in-ukraine/
You see pro-Russian Twitter accounts going on about it all the time so Iβll take it with a grain of salt
For ex, this notorious Russian shill who constantly writes about a Ukrainian Nazis and how Russia is just misunderstood did a whole propoganda article about nazi education:
