The 1999 Seattle WTO protests, sometimes referred to as the Battle of Seattle,[1] were a series of protests surrounding the WTO Ministerial Conference of 1999, when members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) convened at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington on November 30, 1999. The Conference was to be the launch of a new millennial round of trade negotiations.
The negotiations were quickly overshadowed by massive street protests outside the hotels and the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. The protests were nicknamed "N30", akin to J18 and similar mobilizations, and were deemed controversial by the media. The large scale of the demonstrations, estimated at no fewer than 40,000 protesters, dwarfed any previous demonstration in the United States against a world meeting of any of the organizations generally associated with economic globalization, such as the WTO, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.[2]
Planning for the actions began months in advance and included local, national, and international organizations. Among the most notable participants were national and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) such as Global Exchange[3] (especially those concerned with labor issues, the environment, and consumer protection), labor unions (including the AFLโCIO), student groups, religion-based groups (Jubilee 2000), and anarchists (some of whom formed a black bloc).[4] The protests also drew support from some political conservatives, such as American presidential candidate and commentator Pat Buchanan.[5]

Middle class white kids dont realize how important their political groups depended on being middle class / rich kids. Also being white. Two things they fight the hardest to destroy.

That's why it's funny to watch shitlibs try to purge whiteness from institutions. They're all going to be controlled by chinks and streetshitters at this rate. And that's a good thing

That shit was wild. If the cops would have stuck to just punching hippies downtown it probably wouldn't have got so bad. Once they came up the hill was when shit really kicked off. That was a crazy couple nights lol.

It's a proven fact that Delta Force had agent provocateurs in the crowd. Delta Force and the Police turned it into a riot and most media poisoned the well against any anti-globalist movements for decades

I'm going to sperg for a moment. JSOC had guys there in plainclothes as a countermeasure against the threat of a suspected chemical attack and to provide on the ground security assessment intel. I'm not denying that the Feds had agent provocateurs in the crowd, but that's not the particular kind of work that CAG gets tasked with when they work domestically. The agent provocateurs were at least one step removed from the Feds and tended to be normal civilians being bribed with things like free rent with guaranteed legal protections. A good example of what they do domestically is their involvement in the Waco siege. The popular perception of the tier 1 units under JSOC is very myopic, and there's way more actors involved that have gone completely under the public's radar.
On a side note these protests and the government response are where Alex Jones really got his start.

What, roided dudes with tribal tattoos buying breastmilk online for gainz and getting caught executing prisoners after disastrous raids that they heinously misrepresent in a book they immediately shop to Hollywood studios

Lol that's exactly my point. Those dudes only make up a portion of the units under JSOC. There's other elements on the intelligence, counter-intel, gayops side that are just as active and keep themselves out of the news.

Iโve often wondered if units like the SEALs are publicity stunts, meant to divert attention from groups with names like โ37th interterritorial logistics teamโ who can single-handedly slaughter the entire Chinese army.

As cool as it would be, it's wishful thinking. The US' military strength lies in our logistics and operational management, not supersoldiers. Have you noticed how the Russians can't manage to pull off even a fraction of the air campaign the Coalition conducted during Desert Storm 30 years ago? Competence, practice, and coordination coupled with technology, industry, and logistics win conventional wars.

Didnโt Hoover abuse and act beyond his executive permitted operations many different times? Like when Robert Kennedy gave home permission to cautiously wiretap MLKโs phone calls and Hoover went full fed on him?

That's basically a story that upper middle class draft dodging boomers use to justify why they loved Kennedy when they were kids but became anti-establishment when they were teenagers. It entirely comes from them being in a very comfortable environment so they like authority figures up until about 14 and then start to rebel.
JFK was running on a militantly anti-communist platform. He said Eisenhower was soft on communism and didn't buy enough bombers to kill all Russians in a nuclear war. Bobby Kennedy was his pointman for ordering the CIA to try to kill Castro. So I'm not a huge fan of Hoover, but the idea that he ever "went rogue" and wasn't doing what the presidents wanted him to do is total bullshit. He was the guy who did the dirty work for them that they all wanted to have done.

To delegitimize the protestors and brand them as violent criminals in the eyes of the public. Which in turn justifies a harsher police response allowing for them to be dispersed.

So Bill Clinton had the guts to authorize a domestic covert operation that would get him impeached if it ever came out because... he had some abstract interest in globalism? I watched that kitty in office for 8 years and he had nowhere near the courage to do that.

Interesting, thx for the correction. How were they involved with the Waco siege I don't know much about that besides ATF bad

They were there as advisors and subject matter experts (). When they bring in Delta/CAG for domestic issues, they don't have them actually pulling triggers because that could become a massive legal shitshow. They bring them in to assess situations and provide guidance to other agencies on how to perform things like building breaches and good sniper overwatch layouts. They clearly didn't do a good job at Waco or the gayTF ignored them.
