I might actually include 400k a year in middle class tbh. I feel like upper class is when you have/are making generational wealth and could live in luxury with your money making money. (Assuming you aren't financially r-slurred.) Someone making $400k a year is still going to end up working a normal job, has very little power/influence, and is closer to a wagie than true rich upper class people imo. They are just shielded from having to worry about finances and can afford luxuries.
