it really is incredible. a few years ago here there was a case where 4 black people (2 men, 2 women) literally kidnapped an actually r-slurred white teenager, brought him too some hotel room, and tortured him on facebook live for hours, recording/streaming the whole thing.
curiously they got light sentences, even with the hate crime enhancement (they were shouting racial slurs the whole time lol), and one of the women literally got only probation (which @tempest hear she violated, all she had too do was not get on facebook for 3 years).
of course this never really became a national story for... reasons.
