Disney somehow managed to frick up their bread and butter, a princess movie.

Domestic collection has nearly flattened already https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Wish-(2023)#tab=box-office

They spent 200 mil on this and they'd be lucky if they make 85.

Is the main character in it supposed to be black or Latinx?

The Kingdom appeared loosely based on Moorish Spain, but actual Moors and Spaniards aren't dark enough so she's some kind of sub-Saharan African and North African mix I suppose

It's not impossible for a darker Moor to exist, but the irony is there's never been a Moorish or North African princess, and the time they have the chance they race swap :marseyeyeroll:

Did you mean there has been but they chose race swap for a black one?

No I mean the current princess would have been the ideal chance for the first Moorish/North African/Berber princess, but they race swapped for a more sub Saharan princess for cynical DEI reasons instead.

Picking North African and moorish Spanish influenced design and then grabbing a princess who resembles people many miles to the south just to appease twitter, basically. But these types think everyone in Africa is sub-Saharan so I shouldn't be shocked.

Oh I thought you meant irl that there never has been a North African Moorish princess :marseyretard2:

There is Jasmine if your definition of Moorish includes the entire Arab world

Ethnically ambiguous. The story is set on an island in the Mediterranean.

That's probably "too white" for the current activist creatives at Disney.

It didn't seem Mediterranean in the trailers, or at least to me

Do you really think either twitter spergs or disney wokes know or care about the difference between mediterranean and frankish/germanic culture beyond "darker skin"?

Not really no :marseysad:
