They are trademarking steamboat Willie too though it will be interesting to see anyone trying their luck to test out the public domain aspect of Willie. I'm sure the Mouse will be out for blood but it's up to the courts to draw the line on what's allowed and what's not.

I've always thought it strange how little they do with their classic characters like mickey, Minnie, dobald etc. Can they really not put together a feature film with those guys? Seems like easy money with no r-slurred cultural baggage to worry about.

Disney the corporation isn't going anywhere soon their movie division is a drop in the bucket, most of their money (by a lot) comes from parks and merch. Movies bombing hurt merch and will hurt parks in the long run but the rat will still make money this year.
