We say "on the 24th (day) of July (in the year of our Lord) 2024". Either DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD are at least in order of relevance. What the frick is MM/DD/YYYY? "Would you like to go for drinks October tomorrow?"

Literally everypony says month then day.

"Halloween is on October 31st."

"Freedom died on September 11th."

Etc

It even works in other formats:

"Celebrate black lives matter on Juneteenth."

Imagine a filing cabinet system where each cabinet represents the day of the month, with 12 drawers for each month, and then a file for every year. That's eurobrain dates for you. The Chad date system is YYYY-MM-DD, but since most people know what year it is, we stick it at the end.
