Nicki Clyne of Battlestar Galactica Fame who spent 18 years as a cult member announces she is leaving the cult to live a normal life

I doubt most of you care but this girl played Callie on BSG and apparently left the show early to devote herself full time to the cult and remained a massive supporter and believer for 18 years, even after the leader was arrested and sentenced to life in prison.

This is the cult she was a part of if you're curious

From a young age, I have felt that what we perceive in a material sense is only a fraction of what we can experience spiritually. I read about spiritual quests in books, and men and women who seemed to have attained a higher state of consciousness.

Like how you can get men to do anything at all by offering s*x, if you offer women emotional and spiritual support they get addicted to it too and will do anything you ask. Not many women join cults, but many are duped when they're young by men who can talk in a way that appears that they know the spiritual answers.

It is five years since Keith Raniere lost his worldly freedom

I guess once that support had ceased, she was able to look at things a bit more objectively which let her come to this conclusion.

She still talks like she's a believer. Give it 5 years she'll be a scientologist or something

There's a really good episode of the Rockford Files :marseyboomer: where he saves this airhead hippie from a cult. In the last scene he runs into her on the street. She's handing out fliers for some cult except this time it's Christian so it's totally different. What's that old saying? You can lead a foid to water, but you can't make her stop being an r-slur.

If you f-slurs ever think I'm just playing a character, I met this old guy waiting for the train. (Turned out he's actually my neighbor but I've been stuck at home and never ran into him yet.) And I brought up the subject of the Rockford Files. Had a conversation like:

Me: I wish I hadn't already watched every episode of The Rockford Files and Hawaii Five-0.

Him: Oh yeah that James Garner.

Me: We don't have anyone cool like that anymore.

Him: :marseyagree:

:#marseyboomer:

TLDR: This is actually who I am in real life.
