I don't know if this is a hot take (I don't interact with Star Wars fans) but I unironicly liked the last jedi a pretty good amount. It gave Luke a meanful conclusion to his arc and Kylo whole thing about want to belong to something that wasn't the hippie jedi or the empire was super cool and actually had nuisance. Also Finn got some good screentime and development and wasn't shoved aside for the Chinese market

It definitely had issues, and is not close to being perfect, or even great, but it felt like the only movie in the sequel trilogy that actually had some soul put into it.

It had some of the coolest shit in a Star Wars movie. Like the lightsaber fight on the giant ship and even the hyperdrive ship ramming was really cool. Unfortunately the rest of the movie was buttfrick r-slurred…

It was Empire Strikes back but with a slow meandering space chase.

Every time I was about to like it it suddenly veered away from doing something interesting and did whatever would maximise the merchandise profits.

What put me off was the r-slurred rebel leadership doing a 10mph startship chase and forcing a mutiny by refusing to tell anyone there was a plan. It rendered so much of the plot meaningless and ultimately was only put in to provide CGI set pieces.

You're entitled to your opinion, but Luke's downfall felt unearned.

That side arc was literally the most unbearable part of the movie. It was literally a just the director taking a 3rd of the movie to say capitalism bad and virtue signal. I don't get Last Jedi fans at all.
