Winning a prize nay bestow prestige on an unknown literally who, but after 30 years of giving an award to nobodies, the prestige wears thin and winning it stops meaning anything.
Where are the Faulkners, the Hemingways, the Albert Camus, the Herman Hesses, the John Steinbecks, the Pearl Bucks, the Solzhenitsyns?

gulol archipelago was def one of the best works of fiction in the 20th century. As far as recent winner go Tokarczuk, munro, and grass definitely deserve it. You should probably read more
The Bible tells us that pride comes before the fall, and it seems to me that the person who made this comment is suffering from a serious case of pride. It's sad to see how far the person has fallen, and I can only hope that they will find their way back to the path of righteousness.
