My Kindle died (and ranting about Stephen King)

Day 1 of my seven-night Disney Cruise, and my trusty Kindle Keyboard died :( I had to pay for a day of wifi just so i could download the app and use my phone instead.

Sad, I've had it for a decade now. I fully charged it two days ago but now it's stuck on the screensaver.. Tried every reset procedure i could find. I didn't bring the microusb cable to try jumpstarting it either.

I've also decided I'm going to skip the rest of Dark Tower book 4(Wizards and Glass). It's a very tedious read and I'm not on vacation to punish myself. King is a frustrating author anyway with his made up terms and fantasy language.

Like goddarn, sometimes you just want to smack King and his flowery fantasy language

that stupid way EVERYTHING needs two or three names depending on who is talking about them, usually all stupid. Yeah he's the Tick-Tock Man, also known as Grimlord, also known as Walking Dude, also know as Randall Flagg, also known as Ricky Bobby, also known as Richard Fanning, also known as Crimson King....

The "Previously on" synopsis I'm reading through for Book 5 is already 3% of the entire book and sounds like a fricking joke if it weren't for the fact that I've actually read the previous four books and know things like "riding a sentient monorail that likes riddles" and "the ancient tribal beats are a stuck tape playing a ZZ Top song" was a thing that happened in this middle-earth-ish setting. I understand the whole "time repeats itself" motif that he keeps clumsily dancing around and will probably act like a shocking reveal in book 7 but to still have a character make so many modern references like the Texas "hook em horns" is just eye-rolling

Dark tower was kind of kino in an r-slured way. I enjoyed it as a kid.

I find myself skimming a lot. The majority of words don't matter at all.

Edit: there it is, 8% into the book and King does the p-dophile thing

This succubus thing did not progress the story in any way, but King needed to type out "a twelve year old could've totally been snu-snu'd"
