oh u mean la bb murder cases no that's been out for a long time and it was very fitting with the universe and also the backstory felt very much cannon
e: and it isn't a manga it's a short novel (novella, whatever it's called-- it's not a long read)

I see! That's cool then. Admittedly I was very burned out on DeathNote after L died and everything felt kinda aimless afterwards. I might have to hunt down a .pdf of that then.

I actually liked Near a lot, I think the qualities that a lot of people dislike in near was very intentionally part of his character .. but a lot of people couldn't cope with that scene and admittedly I was pretty pissed off too
