Finally a kindred spirit. The book had a couple funny moments but it was way too pleased with itself. I thought it didn't take its setting and characters seriously enough for comedy to naturally emerge, so we were left with "Look at this wacky thing!" interspersed with "xd nothing matters amirite?" Still, I know it was originally a radio play, so it's possible that a lot of what can make it funny is the right line delivery, etc. in stuff specific to other formats.
On another note, I hate when some British slop is mid and then the fan says "Well you Yanks just don't get British humour!" There is not a single other country that gets away with this excuse. Frankly I think Family Guy is just too culturally particular for the filthy foreign hordes.
