I am open to novels and short stories, I just need to read and review a piece that sorta embodies this 
new era of literature for a friend's project.

Haven't read either of these 2.
I've read Men Whitout Women, Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and 1Q84.
I just got the 2nd 3bp book, will probably read Celine first though so it'll have to wait a bit. I was really impressed by the first book final chapters, was a lot better than what I expected

3bp is strikingly different in scope from book to book
First one is strictly earth over a brief period and a bit weird
Second isredacted and sprawling
Final isMEGA REDACTED READ TO THE END and the ending lived rent free in my head for days
I think they're best consumed consecutively though
