Comic Con Haul

Drove :marseysteer: a good few hours to get to Gem City Comic Con and this my haul:

Some eerie mags, some issues of Prez an utterly insane bronze book Dc bool about a teenage hippie president, and a Warren Ellis Omni.

I also got some mags like wizard and toy mags:

There was this pretty cool free manga zine at the front which looked like Jiro Kuwata:

-i saw three separate indie comic booths were the artist was showing off their lightbringer tier art

-i saw 3 fursuits :marseyfurry:

-lots of hazbin hotel cosplay :marseyloona:

-i saw a really fat Mandelorian cosplayer :marseychonker2: :marseyyoda:

A slightly gritter retelling of prez was featurered in Neil gaiman's Sandman.

The premise of issue 1 is that 18 year olds get the right to vote and run for office so a corrupt mafia leader called boss smiley decides he wants to find a teen to run as a patsy. Boss Smiley finds a teen named Prez richards whose claim to fame was making all the clocks run on time in his hometown. Prez then climbs his way from mayor to senator to president with funding from smiley and then tells Boss Smiley to frick off and Smiley tells him he'll regret that. He also has some native american teen be his VP. Ive heard some theroys that Prez is a satire of hippies and youth politics where Prez is meant to invoke fascism esp with his origin of "making the clocks run on time" being explicitly compared to how Mussolini made the trains run on time. For instace prez causes a world war to nearly break out via preaching piece and love at a US vs Russian chess match. In issue 3 he outlaws all firearms which causes Geroge Washington's decendent to start a revolutionary war 2 causing Prez to determine guns and war are american af.
