To me Jung and Joseph Campbell and to a lesser extent Propp and the other folklorists/mythology classifiers have always seemed to engage in a lot of pseud equivocation that both strips the joy out of exploring the differences and novelties of individual works while also conveniently ignoring anything that would contradict their theories, like how in e.g. culture dragons are benevolent and bring good fortune or in some of the Greek regions/traditions snakes are healers.
Maybe I'm the though. Either way wash your balls.

I know close to nothing about Jung's oeuvre, wasn't he a shrink at the same time as that crackpot Freud?

Fun fact: Carl Jung had close ties to the CIA. He also probably had s*x with Allen Dulles' wife but Allen was fine with it because he had his own mistress (and weirdly enough, Allen's wife was close friends with the mistress after learning about her)

I chose the Names of God (BIPOC) version on purpose, it is the most dramapilled Bible translation since it correctly shows the original Hebrew names for YHWH, and also because of its acronym! !christians !catholics

They didn't worship the bronze serpent. They worshipped the golden calf.
Bronze serpent was merely a medium for gods healing

The Rod of Asclepius is still a popular symbol for medical associations today and the original Hippocratic Oath invoked him.
When Hadrian rebuilt Jerusalem as Aelia Capitolina following the Jewish-Roman War they even turned the sacred pool (identified in the Christian tradition as having healing properties due to the presence of St. Raphael the Archangel whose name translates roughly as "God's healer") featured in John 5 into a cultic worship site for Asclepius. Such blasphemous disrespect in turn continued to simmer in the buildup to the Bar Kokhba revolt.

This is true in the Old Testament as well. Staff of Moses but more particular to healing are the bronze serpents that healed the Israelites

Not to nitpick but Moses' Staff was a response to the snakes plaguing the Israelites in the preceding verse Numbers 21:6 and was thus more about protection from them rather than healing through them and later King Hezekiah destroyed the Nehushtan because there was sacrifice taking place at its site. Snakes don't heal, only God does.

Sure but gods healing was done through a bronze serpent.
My point being is that snakes have not been seen just as agents of suffering but also healing even within our own religion. It is not just isolated pagan symbolism. Even Greek mythology prominently featured snakes as evil as well. You had many evil snake monsters even in Greek mythology most prominently medusa.
In fact now that I think about it Medusa was a priest (for Artemis I think) who turned away from her god and had relations with Poseidon. As you know in Jewish/christian traditions the snake itself turns mankind away from god but somewhat similar situation/theme
