I have become a kindlecel

After years of trying to avoid ereaders the price and availability of books in leafland finally broke me. Got the kindle basic and I'm going to fill it with pirated legally obtained books.

Gotta say I'm impressed, the screen is super easy on the eyes. What ereaders do you guys use? And where do you get your books?

I've got a Kindle Paperwhite. I tried a kobo Libra but didn't like it at all so I switched back.

For legally obtaining books, your local library is a good option. For illegally obtaining books, I'd still recommend your local library and the deDrm plugin (or whatever it's called now). Easier to avoid downloading books with typos in them from a bad OCR.

Do libraries loan out ebooks? How does that work??

It's the same process as lending physical books, but there's DRM that makes the book inaccessible after the borrowing period ends.

You download an app and link it with a library card. Check out your library's website and you'll see what they use.

The business model is that libraries purchase licenses for ebooks. They're either paying for a certain number of circulations (which allows simultaneous checkouts) or paying for a fixed number of copies (books may require a hold if someone else is reading it).
