I read two books this week and I'm on my third one!
the first is the Vagina Monologues. It's a book about a woman who talks about vaginas. It's very self-indulgent and an over-intellectualization of the simple fact of having genitals. I was going to make a longpost on it but its actually not that interesting of a book.
I also read Thomas Nagel's What Does It all Mean. It put me onto solipsism which I've been reading about.
Today I started Paul Auster's New York Trilogy. I'm enjoying it so far.
Wuthering Heights. Having just as hard a time following it now as I did in high school. Not sure if I should feel vindicated or r-slurred. Dunno if I'll stick through it

Finished The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon. I usually don't really care for coming of age stories, but I liked this one well enough. A lot of the book was incredibly horny, but since the main character is a 16 yr old boy I can forgive it. The mystery and tension throughout worked for me although the ending ramped up way more than I expected. Would recommend if horror/suspense and coming of age stories are your jam, and don't mind the vast amounts of horniess because the main character does spend a looooooot of time oggling and fantasizing about every single woman. Unfortunately not very spooky though.

so i recently read a book of short stories set in the romero of the dead world edit'd by this guy. in it he says that romero loved this book so much he decided it was canon for of the dead world. had maberry write a short story (in a different book of of the dead world zombie short stories that i just finished reading) to connect this book and night of the living dead.
being the biggest george romero mark that ever lived i immediately bought this book and have such unrealistically high hopes for it i'll probably hate it. gonna start it tonight either way.
i have no idea if that story of romero saying OMG UR BOOK WAS AMAZING AND I'M MAKING IT CANON OF THE LIVING DEAD story is real but i feel like he wouldn't brag about something like that if it was fake?
I finished Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on Thursday. Now I am on to anothere Le Carre, A Most Wanted Man. I'll finish his entire spy bibliography within this year
I like the (now proven factual) subtext of his book that literally the entire British government in the Cold War was MOLE'D by the Mossad and KGB to non-recoverable levels
I picked up literature real hard in the last year to the point i was going to the bookstore like twice a week and have this huge backlog now. Just gotta slowly go through them all. Thinking pride and prejudice next.

The Romans reserved crucifixion as an imperial method for quellong revolts. They didn't let their conquered subjects tell them how to execute people.
There's a lot of holes in this story, including the meticulous Roman records.
