No, I used a pen tablet. But this "guide" is trash and ancient. I wouldn't follow it unless you have absolutely no idea how to use an art software and wants to freehand draw Marseys.

I gave up* on drawing now but I started with making Marseys too, but even with a tablet it's still a good idea to use tools like the bezier curve or stabilizer, preferably using vectors to edit the line. I suck at using vectors though.
I only used 2 tablets, started with a Huion HS64, a cheap chinky tablet, but it felt too small for my gorilla hands. I replaced it with a RTP-700, a larger and newer model. Both work really well though, I can't blame them for my shitty drawings.
If you want cheap then the HS64 is probably what you're looking for, though there might be newer or better cheap models. Might be worth investing into a larger tablet if you can't comfortably move your arms with the small ones, but you should also consider how much space you go to work it.
I appreciate it they’re just copy and pasted tho so I need to figure out how to do some original dinos on my phone and I’ll be golden. The shading technique from this post is 100 percent getting used
Just install an X11 server on your phone, install Termux, install a compiler and all dependencies of Krita, download Krita's source code, compile krita as an X11 client, launch the X11 server, set the DISPLAY variable to contain your X11 server position, launch Krita.
Fixed as of 8 minutes ago. I was wondering why this post had such low upvotes (despite being high quality), and it turns out your friendly neighborhood codecels broke voting. Whoops.

Can someone else make a better (and hopefully shorter) Marsey making guide, please? This is more of a basic Krita intro guide than anything else, and it's kinda bloated with trivialities.
This guide was mainly made to show the steps I go through when drawing a Marsey from scratch, which I only do because I'm trying to learn how to draw. It's easier to just edit, paste or draw over the original Marseys, You don't need Krita or even a computer for that task, any image editing software with layer support will suffice.
And really, I only made this shit because of one particular r-slurred cute twink who kept whining to the Marsey makers to show him how they do it.
Finally, here's something very useful, the parts pack made by Dramarama.

I haven't used photoshop since the 2000's, I know most professional artstrags use it nowadays though.
And you did a great job with those Marseys, I don't get the references but still..

i use mouse and keyboard + photoshop, when drawing you have to use smoothing, it makes drawing much easier once you get used to it.

I might still make some Marsey, but nothing too complex.
One last thing: It might be worth looking at this list for pen tablet recommendations.

The guide in the OP is ancient as frick and I wouldn't recommend following it thoroughly unless you know jack shit about digital art.
While I can't make a new full guide, I did make a less convoluted one for creating outlines. Still using https://www.getpaint.net
